# What is a data source type?

A data source type refers to the category of data you’re pulling from — not how many sources or widgets you have.

For example, if you created 3 Google reviews widgets and 5 LinkedIn page posts widgets, you’re pulling from 2 data source types: Google reviews and LinkedIn page posts.

Think of it like ice cream flavors. If you order 3 scoops of chocolate and 5 scoops of vanilla, you picked 2 flavors — regardless of how many scoops you got.

What is a widget?

A widget is a feed you create and place on your website. Every time you create a new feed, that’s one widget — and each widget comes with its own unique embed code and ID.

Here’s an example. Let’s say you have a website for Company A:

* You create a LinkedIn page posts feed for the homepage — that’s widget #1
* You create an Instagram profile feed for the photos page — that’s widget #2
* You create another LinkedIn page posts feed for the sidebar — that’s widget #3

Even though two of those feeds pull from the same LinkedIn page, they use different embed codes, so they count as separate widgets. 3 embed codes = 3 widgets.
