# How to make a YouTube video play automatically?

There are times when a YouTube video will not play automatically. It will require you to click the play button. For some customers, clicking the play button is not a problem. But there  are cases where you need the autoplay to work. Autoplay is useful if you use [SociableKIT's YouTube live video widget](https://www.sociablekit.com/embed-youtube-channel-live-video-on-website/).

**Chrome**

Google Chrome has some autoplay policies. Autoplay is disabled by default. Autoplay is allowed only if the user has interacted with the domain of your website. Interaction can be a click, tap, etc. Read [this article](https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2017/09/autoplay-policy-changes) for more details.

**Firefox**

Firefox will allow a video to autoplay only if you give it permission. By default, it blocks all video from playing automatically. To enable autoplay on Firefox, follow the steps in [this article](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay).
