# How to change the widget source?

Updating your widget’s source ensures your content stays fresh, relevant, and aligned with your audience’s needs. By switching to a new source, you can showcase updated reviews, social media posts, or other dynamic content, keeping your website engaging. It also lets you pull from a more active or relevant platform, improving credibility and customer trust. 

1. [Login](https://www.sociablekit.com/app/login?action=none&redirect_url=https://www.sociablekit.com/app/admin/users/search_customers.php?s=yasmin.moustafa%40giu-uni.de) to your account or use the account that has your active widget. ![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/9a0e4f74247be800/q1_1p3k24i.png)

3. Under the **Basic** tab, locate the ID field. *Hint: The ID field contains the initial input you enter once you create a widget.* ![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/9/a/0/e/9a0e4f74247be800/changewidgetsource2_1cmyhrq.png)

5. Done! Please note that it will not take effect immediately, you will need to wait for your widget's scheduled sync to take effect.

> Additional note: For the free plan, this tutorial will not work as the customization in the free plan is disabled. You will need to create a new widget for a new source.
